Nic Maddinson’s sabbatical from cricket continues after he was left out of NSW’s clash with Queensland due to personal issues.
Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW said Maddinson “will not be available for selection due to personal reasons, until further notice”.
They have requested Maddinson’s privacy be respected.
Victorian paceman John Hastings said he hoped to see Maddinson back in the game soon.
“Hopefully Maddo can get back to where he needs to be and that’s playing really good cricket and the Sydney Sixers,” Hastings told RSN radio on Thursday.
“I think he’s an unbelievable talent and he’s a nice kid as well”
Maddinson made his Test debut in the day-night third match against South Africa in Adelaide last November.
The 25-year-old was dismissed for a duck on debut.
He made scores of 1, 4 and 22 in innings against Pakistan.
