VATUTINKI, June 13 (Sputnik) - German supporters have bought a total of 79,000 tickets for FIFA World Cup matches, the President of the German Football Association (DFB), Reinhard Grindel, said on Wednesday.
"A total of 79,000 tickets have been sold to German fans. We hope to enjoy massive support from our fans. Supporters of different German clubs will be happy for the national team and cheer for it together. Let this vibe spread to the team, too. They have been working... with strong motivation ahead of the tournament," Grindel told journalists.
The national team are staying at their base in the town of Vatutinki, just outside Moscow.
Defending champions Germany have been drawn in Group F and will play Mexico at Moscow's Luzhniki arena on Sunday, before taking on Sweden in Sochi on June 23 and South Korea in Kazan on June 27.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held at 12 stadiums in 11 cities across Russia between June 14 and July 15.
