European stars Franck Ribéry, Fernando Torres and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar are among the big names that Football Federation Australia (FFA) wants to bring to the A-League.
Fox Sports is providing $3 million to A-League clubs to bring marquee men to the competition.
According to French magazine Lucarne Opposée, the target of stars includes the likes of Franck Ribéry, Fernando Torres, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Keisuke Honda and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Spaniard Andres Iniesta is also on the list, but he appears set to move to either China or Japan.
Frenchman Ribery has signed a one-year contract extension with Bayern Munich, while Dutch striker Huntelaar has extended his deal with Ajax for another season.
It is understood, FFA are not only targetting marquee players for the 2019/20 season, but also campaigns beyond, enabling potential future deals for Ribery and Huntelaar.
According to the French publication, the list is not exhaustive and may include other top-line players.
