Australian coach Darren Lehmann says Glenn Maxwell is not in contention for a Test recall.
Lehmann’s comments follow Maxwell's public denouncing of his state captain Matthew Wade for a decision to play him high in the batting order.
Maxwell went on the record to state he believed Wade’s actions affected his chances for Test selection.
Lehmann said he would not have made the side regardless.
“No (I wouldn’t have selected him). Because he hasn’t made 100 for the last two years. You need to make 100,” Lehmann said.
“Are you going to pick a bloke that hasn’t made 100 for two years?”
And with the pair set to line-up next to one another in Sunday's one-dayer against New Zealand, tensions will be high.
“We’re obviously disappointed but we’ll work through those issues,” Lehmann said.
“We’re confident they can work together.”
