Henry, how's it going? So tell us what happened during the northern hemi winter, where were you based and who were you riding with?

Yeah, I was planning on riding most of the northern season. Based in Breckenridge, Colorado for the first two months just to film and ride everyday! Then head over to Europe and compete in heaps of TTR events and Europa cups, and I wanted to finish my season off at The World Rookie Fest Finals in Ischgl, Austria. But yeah, just to go riding with my coach Chad and whoever we met along the way!

You had some bad luck with injuries right?

Haha yeah.... I broke my ankle and tore my rotator cuff (something in my shoulder) on my 6th day riding in Breck! I was still just cruising and had really just got there! But wrecked myself by just being way too lazy on a front 7 off the bottom jump. I don't really know how my ankle broke though? I landed right on my side and all the ski patrol guys thought i had broken my neck or something! In the ambulance to the hospital, they kept pumping me with crazy pain killers (did help the pain a lot!) because they thought I had done something really bad. I only had a few fractures and a torn shoulder though.... haha.

How long were you out? Did it cut your season short or could recover in time to shred?

I think in total I was out for 10 or 11 weeks! So pretty quick recovery, but as I said it was only fractured. I then tried to go back to Austria for 6 weeks just to get my feet back and start filming. No competing because by the time I was recovered, there where only a few comps left and I would have been up against people who had been killing it all season! I was also really keen to try out the new Lobster Snowboards! Which I now love, triple base is definitely where it's at! But that trip didn't go well either! I was there for 4 weeks and only got to ride 6 days.... again. The weather was so crazy over there! Blizzards over the whole of Europe just filling in the parks. So they had to re-build them every week! And with no trees up on the glaciers as soon as the cloud comes in, you can't see a thing! So we ended up going home early. But Chaddy and I did have some of the most EPIC pow days of our lives!! All open, nipple deep, with no one around!

What sort of rehab have did you do to get back on track?

So much! Physio at the AIS every second day! Going to the gym because I couldn't skate, let alone walk! It sucked, haha but it helped heaps. If I hadn't put all the time and effort into my rehab, I would have never made it to Austria to give my season a second shot! Which I'm glad I tried, cause even if the trip did fail, at least I have some crazy memories and good times.

What have you planned for our coming aussie season?

My plan for Aus is to do the whole season and have as much fun snowboarding as I can, which will be pretty easy. But I'd really like to get invited to the 'Mt Dew Hut Jam' again and 'Stylewars'! Plus just film heaps at Perisher and hopefully get some photo opportunities as well! This season is still kind of unknown but I just want to do everything and snowboard everyday!

Thanks for the catch up mate, see you at the Demo Days at the end of June!
