The best response to being cut is to win a premiership with your new club, right?

After Johnathan Thurston won a record-fourth Dally M Player of the Year medal, surpassing the eighth Immortal Andrew Johns, the Cowboys are still celebrating the fact they managed to pull this deal off 11 years on.

With the Bulldogs' hierarchy clearly favouring the more experienced Brent Sherwin and Braith Anasta over the young halfback from Queensland, they opted to move Thurston on in a decision they still could be regretting today ...
