As of the end of 2017, the Western Force will be no more.
The Australian Rugby Union (ARU) announced on Friday they have resolved to discontinue the licence of the Western Force.
This comes after the decision to revert the Super Rugby competition to fifteen teams from 2018 onwards.
It was long predicted either one of the Melbourne Rebels or Force were going to get cut.
And on Friday, the Force's worst fears were realised.
More to come.
