Wayne Bennett wants a $400,000 payout from the Brisbane Broncos after leaving the club to join South Sydney.
Bennett was sacked by the Broncos and linked up with Souths despite having a year left on his contract at Red Devil.
According to The Courier-Mail, the coach sent a legal letter to Brisbane in which he reserves the right to enforce court proceedings.
Bennett was eventually sacked by the Broncos over allegations he breached his deal by having conversations with Souths players.
