Broncos centre James Roberts’ career hangs in the balance after reports surfaced the speedster was involved in a drunken incident at the weekend in Brisbane.
Roberts has a history of off-field dramas, having been sacked from Penrith and South Sydney previously.
It is alleged Roberts abused a female barmaid at well-known Brisbane establishment The Normanby Hotel on Sunday night after being refused service.
He was then reportedly put in a choke hold by security before falling unconscious.
An ambulance was called but the 23-year-old came to and left the premises.
The Broncos are reportedly aware of the alcohol-fuelled altercation and have been in touch with the NRL integrity unit.
