Brisbane recruit David Mead should recover from a knee injury in time for the Auckland Nines.
The winger went down at training on Monday and was forced from the field following a knee clash with a teammate.
He underwent scans and is expected to be available for selection for the Broncos' February 4 trial against premiers Cronulla.
Broncos high performance manager Jeremy Hickmans said the injury could have been much worse if not for a committed pre-season.
"Fortunately, the hard work he has done in the pre-season means missing a session or two will not impact him physically," he told AAP.
The 28-year-old joined the Broncos late last year from Gold Coast.
