Fremantle’s Michael Johnson has been ruled out for 2016 with an Achilles injury.
It is the 31-year-old’s latest setback following a series of knee and hamstring issues that have restricted him to just four games this season.
It is a cruel blow for Johnson with thoughts of retirement surely resonating with the once dominant defender.
Garrick Ibbotson will replace Johnson after being dropped from the starting side on Thursday.
