Former NRL hooker Anthony Watts has turned himself into police after allegedly attacking a man at a Gold Coast wedding.
The former Cowboys player has been charged with assault and is due to appear in court on Monday afternoon.
It is alleged the 29-year-old assaulted the husband of a bridesmaid, after initially stepping in to break up an argument at the reception.
It is the latest in a series of incidents that have plagued Watts since leaving the NRL.
In 2012, the former Rooster was released from English super League side Widnes after he was arrested for his involvement in a brawl on a night out while also in possession of drugs.
Later that year Watts was charged with common assault after attending his father’s funeral.
Watts was suspended for eight-weeks in 2013 for allegedly biting an opponent’s penis during a local game.
