Kieran Foran is in line to take the field in Round One, should the NRL sign off on it.
The 26-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Warriors in September and is approaching full fitness.
The NRL have imposed strict guidelines surrounding Foran’s return after the five-eighth was released from his four-year $4.8 million Eels contract last season following a series of off-field issues.
Warriors coach Stephen Kearney said Foran was improving at every session.
“He goes in to see a specialist this afternoon so that’s another step forward for him,” he said.
“I’ve seen a real improvement from him and what he can do with us over the past month or so and he’s come back after Christmas in fantastic shape.”
