Greg Bird has been granted a release from the Gold Coast and has taken up a five-year deal with Catalans in the Super League.
The 32-year-old was on the outer with the glitter strip club after recent indiscretions in relation to a weekend in Northern NSW in which he was asked to leave the premises of a club due to intoxication.
Bird was contracted to the Titans for 2017.
His new deal is believed to be worth $550,000 a season.
Bird played 258 games throughout his 15-season career after debuting for Cronulla in 2002.
He had a decorated representative career that included 17 games for Australia and 18 appearances for NSW.
