Matt Lodge received a rough return to the NRL with Brisbane as the Broncos were defeated convincingly 34-12 by St George Illawarra in round one.
Lodge, making his comeback after three years out of the competition, was booed every time he touched the ball by the Kogarah crowd.
The prop, who has controversially been allowed to come back to the NRL this season, threw an pass in the 50th minute which Ben Hunt intercepted and scored from.
While Lodge did make more metres than any other Broncos player, he also made several errors.

He knocked the ball on coming off off his line and gave away a penalty for a high tackle on James Graham.
The front-rower was also smashed early on when making his first carry by Tyson Frizell and Jack de Bellin.
Halfback Hunt was the star man against his old club, masterminding the dominant 22-point victory.
