Australia’s sprint relay team has claimed bronze with USA swimming legend Michael Phelps winning his 19th Olympic gold medal.
It is Australia’s third swimming medal after the Aussies finished behind the silver medal-winning French team.
Aussie swim gold medals include Mack Horton (400m freestyle) and the women’s sprint freestyle relay team.
Emma McKeon (100m butterfly) missed out on the medals after finishing seventh.
Aussies Tamsin Cook and Jess Ashwood finished sixth and seventh respectively in the 400m freestyle final.
Aussie Madison Wilson won her 100m backstroke semifinal to finish fastest for Tuesday’s final ahead of third-placed compatriot Emily Seebohm.
