Snowboard competitions bring together the best riders in the world to determine who handled the course and conditions best on the day. For a photographer, the comps are crazy, and fun. And you often get a lot of freebies, like lift passes and even accommodation.

But often magazine editors won’t run many comp shots, as they generally don’t like seeing competition vests in their pages, unless it’s to celebrate a local getting a great result or in a feature interview. So often a lot of photos fall through the cracks, particularly of the overseas riders. But there’s often a few gems in amongst the hundreds of frames. Here’s some of mine from the last decade…
