A stripper says she was “licked” by intoxicated Waikato Chiefs players during the team’s Mad Monday celebrations.
The stripper, who said her name was “Scarlette”, told Radio New Zealand the players were drunk, swore at her and touched her inappropriately.
“I made it very clear that I didn’t want to be touched, even though I had a smile on my face it doesn’t affect the words coming out of your mouth, that was just me maintaining my professionalism, trying to get out of there safely,” she said.
“I had one of the players going through my phone, they proceeded to lick me in places that I don’t totally agree with. I felt like I was pressured for that.
“It was a pack mentality.”
Chiefs CEO Andrew Flexman said the club was taking the allegations very seriously and would launch an investigation to determine the appropriate outcome.
“It would be fair to say we are really disappointed in the actions of our players in engaging the services of a performer to attend a post-season celebration that took place on Monday," he said
“In no way does the Chiefs as an organisation condone the actions of the players engaging a stripper and if any of these allegations are substantiated we will be taking the appropriate action.”
The Chiefs' season ended with a 25-9 semi-final loss to the Hurricanes at the weekend.
