Toovey has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Henry who faced the Gold Coast board earlier this week to discuss his fallout with star Jarryd Hayne and the team’s lackluster season.

Reports suggest Henry won’t last the week.

Toovey spent four seasons in charge at the Sea Eagles and led the side to a grand final and preliminary final during that time.

He was an assistant to Des Hasler for almost a decade.

The two-time premiership winner is currently coaching struggling English club Bradford.

And with little proven NRL coaching talent available, Toovey could be the answer to help the Titans out of their current debacle.

Toovey said he did not know his movements for next year but a return to Australia is likely.

“I’m really committed to this year and I was hoping we could get off the bottom where we were situated but that hasn’t been the case,” Toovey said.

“It has been an enjoyable year and like the players I am looking to finish on a high, but I don’t know exactly where or what I’ll be doing next year.”
