Dragons star Gareth Widdop is not expected to miss the NRL finals after discolating his shoulder against Parramatta.
Widdop was forced from the field with a serious shoulder injury on Saturday.
There were fears the five-eighth would require surgery, but scans have shown that is unnecessary.
St George Illawarra are hopeful that the Engllishman will fit to return to action in three weeks.
After a brilliant start to the season, the Dragons have lost five of their past six matches.
They were bashed 40-4 by the Eels on the weekend and have slipped down to fifth on the ladder.
They will need Widdop back if they are to arrest their slide.
