Geelong coach Chris Scott has palmed off speculation the Cats are open to welcoming back former champion Gary Ablett at the end of the season.
The Gold Coast star asked whether the Suns would consider trading him back to Geelong at the end of which was refused.
Ablett is contracted to the Suns until the end of 2018.
Ablett struggled on Saturday against Greater Western Sydney opening debate whether Ablett was committed to the Suns.
"It's a Gold Coast issue and a Gary Ablett issue. I'm not really in a position to comment on behalf of the Geelong Football Club, particularly given our list manager is in the US at the moment," Scott said.
Ablett is due to play his 100th match for the Suns in a fortnight and is 10 games shy of his 300th AFL game.
He played in two premierships and won one of his two Brownlows in 190 games with the Cats before but leaving to join the Suns at the end of 2010.
Ablett has since won three best and fairest awards and another Brownlow with Gold Coast.
