Barba copped the injury during the first half of Friday night’s preliminary final win over the Cowboys when he was floored by an opposing player.

He limped for much of the first half and has since been cleared of major damage although he initially feared his grand final aspirations were over.

He took part in his first training session on Wednesday and will be monitored closely by Sharks medical staff.

"It's a little bit sore (cork) from the game. I had my first hit-out today and it's sort of hard when you don't run for four days it stiffens up," he said.

"It was good to get the body moving again. I'm not 100 per cent yet, but I'm hoping to be 100 per cent for Sunday. Like our preparations, I'll just build up into it. We have some great people at the club who take care of our bodies and allow us to perform on the field.

"I'll participate in sessions, but it goes back to the staff here making sure I do all the protocols to make sure it's all sweet. It's nothing I'm too worried about considering we have so many days left between now and Sunday."
