Wayne Bennett says Anthony Milford will miss the World Cup should he gain selection.
Milford has been battling a shoulder injury and will head for surgery in the off-season.
The No.6 has been in good form and was a chance of wearing the green and gold should his finals form warrant it.
However, Bennett said his star five-eighth would be going under the knife.
“He’s no chance (of playing in the World Cup),” Bennett said.
“There’s no alternative for that, there’s no grey area.”
Bennett said Milford would head for surgery as soon as Brisbane’s season was over.
“That’s what our intentions are,” he said.
