North Melbourne has paid the ultimate tribute to Brent ‘Boomer’ Harvey announcing his iconic number 29 jumper is to be retired indefinitely.
Harvey tormented opposition sides in the No.29 for more than two decades.
In it, he received countless awards, won a premiership and took home a remarkable five Syd Barker medals.
He also broke the AFL games record and became a living legend with 432 AFL games over 21 seasons.
Harvey said he was truly humbled.
“I didn’t expect the number 29 to be retired, I think it’s a fantastic gesture though from the football club,” he said.
“I’m obviously very privileged that the club have chosen to do that.”
