Harvey tormented opposition sides in the No.29 for more than two decades.

In it, he received countless awards, won a premiership and took home a remarkable five Syd Barker medals.

He also broke the AFL games record and became a living legend with 432 AFL games over 21 seasons.

Harvey said he was truly humbled.

“I didn’t expect the number 29 to be retired, I think it’s a fantastic gesture though from the football club,” he said.

“I’m obviously very privileged that the club have chosen to do that.”
