Brent Harvey looks set to join his brother Shane in the Northern Football League in 2017.
The AFL games record holder is expected to run out for North Heidelberg.
The 38-year-old had been pursued by AFL clubs but the North Melbourne legend is said to be unable to face the prospect of playing for another top flight club.
North Heidelberg president Ken Gillett confirmed Harvey was close to joining the club.
“Someone sent me an email the other day and someone fairly close to him said it was about 90 per cent,” Gillett told Newscorp.
“He is going to be a drawcard, for not only us, but for the whole Northern league.”
