North Melbourne legend Brent Harvey has sent a parting message to fans after cleaning out his change room locker.
The legendary Kangaroo played an astonishing 432 games across 21 seasons at Ardent Street but was delisted by the club and told his services were not required in 2017.
He was keen to play on but the club felt the need to head in a different direction.
“That was a lot harder than I thought it would be,” Harvey wrote.
“Thanks for the memories. Will always love this club.”
Harvey proceeded to post some advice that may prove telling as the 38-year-old weighs up his playing future.
“Don’t promise when you’re happy, don’t reply when you’re angry, and don’t decide when you’re sad,” he tweeted.
