Broncos hardman Alex Glenn has backed the signing of Benji Marshall.
Some Broncos insiders have questioned bringing the 31-year-old former Dragon to the club, but Glenn believes the Tigers premiership-winner still has a lot to offer.
“I was surprised and excited at the same time,” he said.
“I’ve been privileged to play with him in the Kiwis and he’s got a lot of experience and he’s done it all.
“Him coming to our club, I know he’s going to give a lot of guidance to some of our younger players.
“He’s been in the game for a long time; he’s done nothing but positive things. He’s going to be a great mentor for our team.”
Glenn said he expected Marshall to offer great value for 2017.
“He’s still got it. He’s still got that passion to play some quality football and I know he’s not going to give up,” he said.
“He’s at a new club. He’s got a lot to prove — he’ll rip in.”
Marshall signed a one-year deal believed to be worth about $100,000.
He knocked back a $300,000 one-year extension to stay with the Dragons earlier this year.
