Two high profile Bulldogs recruits may not make it to Belmore for the 2018 season.
Reports are circling Canterbury are under significant salary cap strain and have been told by the NRL to alleviate the pressure or let go of Aaron Woods and Kieran Foran for next season.
Both are marquee signings and were viewed as key to turning around the club’s current woes.
Playmaker Foran in particular was seen as a major acquisition with the Bulldogs struggling for points making them the worst attacking team in the NRL.
Woods signed with Canterbury during the Tigers’ coaching dramas which saw Jason Taylor sacked.
However, the NSW prop and Tigers captain has greatly warmed to new coach Ivan Cleary giving credence to reports the big fellow may stay.
The Bulldogs’ situation is so dire, Wests are watching on with interest should an opportunity to retain Woods arise.
Foran teamed with Des Hasler to claim the 2011 premiership with Manly.
