Bulldogs coach Des Hasler has reportedly signed Cronulla back-up half Josh Cleeland on a two-year deal.
There was much speculation Hasler and his former Manly half Kieran Foran would reunite following his release from the Eels.
Hasler confirmed he had spoken to the troubled half following his exit from Parramatta.
Cleeland joined the Sharks in the off-season after spending 2015 with Ipswich in the Intrust Super Premiership but has struggled to cement a place in the NRL.
The 25-year-old is expected to put some pressure on Josh Reynolds and Moses Mbye.
The Bulldogs are expected to announce the deal by the end of the week.
