Travis Cloke is on the cusp of trading to the Western Bulldogs with the 29-year-old’s current wage to be reduced by as much as 50%.
Cloke is believed to currently be on about $400,000 a season.
Agent Paul Connors, who is close with Cloke's manager Robbie D’Orazio, said money was not a driving factor for the Collingwood big man.
“He is going there — if he can — for minimal money,” Connors told AFL Trade Radio.
“The money is irrelevant to Travis. He’s had a good career and some good money along the way. I think he just wants to show everyone that he still has something to give.
“It’s a significant pay cut. Over 50 per cent.”
