The Suns exchanged selections 43 & 67 for the 24-year-old midfielder and selection 71, after Lyons officially requested a trade to the Coast on Wednesday.

Lyons enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Crows, averaging 21 touches in 20 games at West Lakes in 2016 establishing himself as a first-choice midfielder.

Lyons’ acquisition to Gold Coast’s engine room will complement the likes of dual Brownlow Medallist Gary Ablett, David Swallow, Touk Miller, Aaron Hall and fellow recruit Pearce Hanley.

“We’re delighted to confirm that Jarryd Lyons will be joining the Gold Coast Suns,” Suns general manager of football operations Marcus Ashcroft said.

“Throughout the exchange period our priority was to bolster the playing list with matured-aged talent, and Jarryd fits that strategy.

“Jarryd is determined to be part of building a winning culture and environment on the Gold Coast, and we are pleased that he chose to nominate our club as his preferred destination.”
