Out-of-contract Adelaide defender Jake Lever has every right to delay a decision on his future, according to Crows teammate Josh Jenkins.
The in-form 21-year-old defender remains hot property, with the Crows yet to secure his signature beyond 2017.
Jenkins went through a similar experience last year, when he due off-contract at the end of 2016, but stayed put.
Lever has refused to put any timeframes and deadlines in place in regard to resolving his future, which Jenkins had no problem with.
"That's Jake's right and that's what players are continuing to do," Jenkins said.
"That's just the evolution of where player movement is heading."
Jenkins said he got sick of talking about his future last year.
Lever is likely going through a similar experience, although the big forward argued the decision wouldn't constantly be weighing on him.
"I can tell you from experience, I would be surprised if he's expending too much energy on it," Jenkins said.
"When you hear him say he's willing to leave it in his manager's hands, that would be exactly what he's doing.
"It's more people externally want to talk to him about it.
"Not just media, but his friends and family might want to talk about it more than he does.
"His performances suggest he is focused on footy."
