Our rugby league nerds have found a quiet spot in the mid-season State of Origin chaos to discuss all things Greatest Game Of All.
This week on Dead In Goal, with talk surrounding which Sydney-based NRL clubs should be “cut”, we do what’s right … and attack the debate head-on. Is cutting clubs good for the game? Or, if we’re not going to cut clubs, can we at least move a few Sydney teams interstate or something?
With empty Sydney stadiums becoming the norm on NRL television broadcasts, we discuss a variety of ways in which the NRL could not only sway a lot of disgruntled fans back to watching live footy, but keep them interested.

We also pay tribute to Benji Marshall. Why? Just because we thought it would be nice to honour a veteran player who has attracted so many people to the game. Isn’t that every player’s responsibility to the game deep-down?
We also talk “Hero” and “Zero” of the week, preview all the match-ups in a hectic NRL Round 17, take a trip down memory lane to the time when three new clubs were allowed into the comp all at the one time, and discuss our recent chat with Petero Civoniceva for the magazine.
