NRL CEO Todd Greenberg recently called for rugby league people in every corner of the game to start talking the game up. And credit to him; over recent seasons the 13-player game has found itself hunched under a thundercloud of negativity, with no break in the storm in sight.

Buzz Rothfield’s recent infamous tweet has sparked debate about whether as a collective we’re a little too harsh on our sport sometimes. Some will say yes – isn’t this all supposed to be, you know, fun? – while others saw Greenberg’s message as a way of saying he won’t be accepting any criticism of the game going forward.
In amongst other loopy stuff, such as explaining rugby league to people from the Philippines, and the prospect of a split-able Summons-Provan trophy, we have our say on our CEO’s recent plea.
We also discuss our “Round 7” theory, which says six of the top eight at the completion of this round will go on to play finals footy, while two of the eight will likely drop out. Which ones, we don’t know. It doesn’t stop us from jibbering about it though. So dive in and enjoy this week’s show …
