The Dragons are reportedly preparing to table the Parramatta five-eighth a three-year $2.4 million deal.

They are yet to offer current halfback Benji Marshall a new contract and recently missed out on snaring Rabbitohs No.6 Luke Keary.

Signing Norman is expected to come at the expense of back-rower Joel Thompson after talks on a possible two-year extension stalled.

The Dragons have freed up about $500,000 following prop Mike Cooper’s release while Mitch Rein’s current salary is said to have been reduced by $200,000 on the back of the club’s new offer.

The departure of Marshall and Dragons veteran Ben Creagh would allow the numbers to stack up.

The Eels would be desperate to hold on to Norman after star signing and halves partner Keiran Foran requested a release from his four-year $4.8 million deal.

Parramatta have tabled Norman a three-year extension to his current deal, but it is believed to be about $100,000 a season less than the Dragons’ offer.
