Reports have surfaced the Tigers do not have the money to pay out Robbie Farah’s contract in a lump sum.
It is the latest roadblock in the ongoing saga regarding the NSW hooker’s exit from Wests which commenced a year ago when coach Jason Taylor told Farah he was no longer wanted at the club.
The Tigers are seeking to pay out Farah’s deal in instalments, something sure to irk the rake after a tough year which saw him dumped to reserve grade last month.
He has not returned to the top flight.
The 32-year-old is close to signing with South Sydney, with an announcement expected Friday, however his exit will not be clean.
It is understood Cronulla have also tabled a two-year offer following incumbent hooker Michael Ennis’ impending retirement but Farah is leaning towards Redfern.
