Cronulla prop Andrew Fifita is set to be denied Kangaroos selection despite a match-winning performance in Sunday’s grand final win.
Fifita is believed to be on the nose of coach Mal Meninga who reportedly met with ARL Commission chairman John Grant to discuss the 26-year-old’s selection for the Four Nations.
The Sharks ace is being investigated by the NRL Integrity Unit for his public support for one-punch killer, Kieran Loveridge.
Meninga has publicly stated players would not only be picked just on form but also in regards to their off-field behaviour.
Fifita was arguably the best player on the field in the Sharks’ 14-12 grand final win over Melbourne with the NRL denying his recent off-field controversies had anything to do with him not winning the Clive Churchill Medal.
The Four Nations squad will be revealed Tuesday after Monday's announcement was delayed.
Fifita's selection decision is believed to have been part of the reason for the delay.
