Kieran Foran is reportedly about to sign a one-year deal with the New Zealand Warriors pending approval from the NRL.
Foran was released from his four-year $4.8 million deal with Parramatta earlier this season for personal reasons.
He will reportedly need to prove to the NRL that he is physically and mentally fit in order to gain registration.
The 26-year-old received treatment at a clinic earlier this year for his personal issues.
Foran has been linked to the ongoing NRL match-fixing saga which could also play a role in whether the NRL will register him.
The five-eighth was believed to be considering signing with the Bulldogs due to his close relationship with coach Des Hasler, however it is understood the Belmore club did not have sufficient room in the cap to obtain his services.
Foran helped Manly to the 2011 NRL Premiership.
