Former NRL star Luke Bailey has launched a scathing attack at the NRL for bumbling his application for an NRL ambassador role.
The former Australian and NSW representative took to social media to blast the NRL after he was overlooked for the position despite his flawless record both on and off the field.
“Gotta stress my disappointment with NRL ambassador program,” Bailey said on his Facebook page.
“Somehow my application was sent late to me so my response was late so I got brushed.
“15 years in the game without a blemish and you become a number in HR apparently. Wouldn’t normally bother me but there is a whole lot of recent negatives going on in the game. Thought they would need all the help they can get. Obviously not.”
The 37-year-old was regarded as one of the nicest blokes in the game. The former Dragon was one of the Titans’ first big-name signings and spent eight seasons with the club before retiring at the end of 2014.
Bailey played 269 NRL games.
