After enduring an intensive three-month NFL training program, Mailata came away with an interesting take on pre-season training in rugby league compared to how the Americans do things. “Oh mate, the cardio running in rugby league is what I do not miss,” he tells Dead In Goal.

There’s plenty more happening on this week’s Dead In Goal. Regular co-host Jeff Centenera returns to tell us his plans for midnight State of Origin, while fellow panellist James Smith shares his shame of changing the channel when his footy team was getting flogged last week.

We also preview the plethora of rugby league content in the current edition of Inside Sport magazine, and we feature more of our listeners’ responses to our popular discussion question: who is your all-time favourite local junior your club has produced. RIP in!
