Paul Gallen is set to re-enter the rep ranks by taking part in the City-Country Origin fixture.
The former NSW State of Origin captain was asked by City Origin coach Brad Fittler last week if he would play in the Mudgee clash on May 7.
NSWRL wish Gallen to act as a mentor for the next generation of NSW talent.
The hardman is said to be keen to give back to the game.
The 35-year-old made his City Origin debut under coach Tim Sheens in 2006.
