Following a breakout season in which he played every game, Lobb’s new deal will see him remain until the end of 2019.

After just three years at the elite level, Lobb has developed into one of the best marking players in the competition, taking the second most contested marks in the AFL this season.

The 23-year old kicked a career high 29 goals in 2016.

“As a playing group we took some big steps this year and I think there is still plenty of improvement in us which is exciting,” Lobb said.

“I’ve grown really close to my teammates and I believe that if we stick together, we can hopefully achieve the ultimate success in the future.”

Giants General Manager of Football Wayne Campbell said Lobb’s extension was a significant one for the club.

“Like many of our players, he’s taken enormous steps forward this year and it’s terrific that he wants to stay with this group as we aim to continue to climb the AFL ladder,” he said.
