Richmond surprisingly lost to Adelaide by 36 points in the Grand Final rematch, the Crows getting revenge on their comprehensive lost in last season's decider.

Following the match, with Hardwick walking down through the crowd to the ground level, the coach suddenly turned around and appeared to aggressively confront a fan a few rows behind him.

Hardwick approached the man, before pointing him out to security, who then ushered the Richmond boss away.

“The ground security staff got the man’s details after the altercation between him and Damien Hardwick,” a League spokesman told AFL.com.au.

“The AFL will make a decision after Easter as to whether any action will be taken against the fan.”
