Benji Marshall is confident of an NRL recall against the Warriors this week after a solid performance in Redcliffe’s win at the weekend in his comeback from a wrist injury.
Redcliffe now sit at the top of the Intrust Super Cup ladder and with Broncos half Anthony Milford a strong chance of an Origin call-up, Marshall believes he’s done enough to get back to the NRL.
“Hopefully I’ve given myself a chance at playing next week,” he said.
“It’s good to be back playing. That six weeks felt like it was a long time. It was a lot of rehab and a lot of work. I was a bit rusty (yesterday) but there was plenty that I liked and plenty to work on.
“After six weeks out, you’ve got to find your timing again. I’m hoping off the back of (yesterday) I can improve again.”
Brisbane hooker Andrew McCullough must pass a concussion test before Saturday’s game, and with Kodi Nikorima to stay at halfback, Marshall could be used as a utility.
