Benji Marshall is reportedly in talks with Storm coach Craig Bellamy.
Marshall’s hopes of extending his NRL career looked increasingly doubtful with no NRL clubs previously interested in him.
The Storm are on the lookout for a half following No.6 Blake Green’s departure to Manly with interchange specialist Ben Hampton off to the Cowboys.
Storm fullback Cameron Munster is expected to switch to five-eighth to accommodate the injured Billy Slater’s return.
But with Marshall’s market value currently at an all-time-low, Bellamy may install the 2005 premiership-winner to a short-term deal to cover for injuries.
Marshall rejected a $300,000 one-year contract extension with the Dragons earlier this year.
He has ruled out a stint in the Super League.
