New York has been thrown up a potential venue to stage a Test match between Australia and Tonga this October.
According to NRL.com, the governing body is looking at taking the Test to US soil.
The fixture between the world champions and the Tongans is likely to be held on October 20. The Kangaroos will face New Zealand in Auckland on October 13.
Red Bull Arena, the home ground of Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls, is being considered as the venue.
The NRL is out to expand its footprint in North America and wants to launch the 2018 season on the west coast.
Tonga were the success story of the 2017 Rugby League World Cup, reaching the semi-finals and beating the Kiwis.
