Panthers coach Anthony Griffin told the media on Monday that winger Peta Hiku will be sidelined for at least one month after sustaining a fractured eye socket.
Scans have revealed the full extent of the facial injury suffered by Panthers outside back against the Dragons on Saturday.
The injury was caused by a swinging arm from Dragons prop Russell Packer in the second minute of Saturday's game.
The tackle, which was not penalised or cited by the NRL Match Review Committee, can be seen in the video above.
Despite the injury, Hiku played out the rest of the game.
