Paul Aiton says he has heard nothing from the NRL but is open to a return to the competition in 2019.
Aiton, who started his career with Penrith in 2006, is currently on the books at Super League side Catalans but is off-contract at the end of this season.
The hooker has been pubicly linked with a return to the NRL, with the Sydney Roosters one club in the market for a number 9.
But Aiton has denied he has received any offers from any NRL teams.
“I am not sure where that news is coming from," the 32-year-old told Inside Sport.
"I have no idea. Given a chance to go help out in anyway possible I probably would, because I am free next year.
"But I haven’t heard anything myself personally. I have had friends asking me but I've not heard anything.
"If the opportunity came to maybe go there and help a team out and their younger blokes.. [I'd be keen]."
Aiton played for the Panthers and the Sharks in the NRL before spending the past six seasons in Super League with Wakefield, Leeds and Catalans.
The Papua New Guinean international has played in three World Cups for the Kumuls.
