Police were called to the main bar at Northies Cronulla Hotel just after 11.30pm after by a female staff member.

A witness, who did not wish to be named, told Fox Sports the NRL star was intoxicated.

“This guy was just out of line, his own players (teammates) were trying to get him out of the place… he kept pushing them away,” the witness said.

Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle confirmed the club was aware of the incident and that Reynolds wished to finish his drink before leaving.

Police said Reynolds is alleged to have been intoxicated.

“Police are inquiring following a fail to quit incident at a licenced premises on the corner of Kingsway and Elouera Rd, Cronulla,” a police spokeswoman said.

“It will be alleged a 28-year-old man was asked to leave the venue due to his level of intoxication after a verbal altercation with security. The man left the scene.

“Officers attached to Miranda Local Area Command attended and spoke to the man. Inquiries are continuing.”

The witness said Reynolds swore at security staff as he was ejected and proceeded to call teammate Aiden Tolman a “dog” for siding with security.

Reynolds has signed with the Tigers from 2018 after debuting for the Bulldogs in 2011.

A Bulldogs statement read:

"There have been allegations of an incident involving Josh Reynolds at the weekend. At this stage the club are investigating the details of these allegations. The club have informed the Integrity Unit and will be offering no more comment at this stage."
