Tiny University of Canterbury expert has all the answers ... or not.
If you've had enough of the endless predictions and speculation about who will be lifting the trophy at the MCG at the end of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, then let this very intelligent robot be the end of your suffering. Filmed in New Zealand, this quirky clip shows a University of Canterbury (New Zealand) staffer putting the robot through its paces, asking it to predict winners of matches leading up to the business end.
As the host rightly points out, unlike the robot’s predicting predecessors, like that octopus, and various other animal and marine life, this little bloke won’t be getting eaten for getting it wrong … oh, so wrong.
Apparently, Scotland, New Zealand, India, Afghanistan and the West Indies will be there when the whips are cracking at the end of the tournament. Ignoring the fact that Afghanistan has spent just five minutes on the international cricket scene, the robot eventually selects them to take out the tournament. Poor little fella. He’s cute though …
